I first learned of Invinca-shield in 1998 when I installed it on
the new BMW M Roadster that I purchased from Baron BMW and needed something to
protect the Cosmos Black paint from rock chips. I later installed Invinca-shield
on Angela's Lexus RX-300 in 1999 which still looks good to this day. I first
learned how difficult it was to install the product on a compound curve when I
attempted to do my own install on a new Toyota MR2 Spyder in 2000. Alan later
redid this car and I witnessed first hand how someone with years of experience
could do things during an install that I could never do, such as trimming the
product on the car without damaging the product or the car's paint. In the fall
of 2001 I flew Alan to Kansas City to install the product on my Boxster S. I was
very happy with the install, pictures of that installation can be found below .
Unfortunately, a pickup truck backed into my car requiring that I replace the
front bumper. I decided to go with the GT3 style front bumper and ordered
another kit from Alan and scheduled to fly him out to KC again. Rather than
simply watch Alan again I thought it might be a good idea to share the
installation experience with other PCA and AM986 Club members so I sent out some
emails and handed out some flyers at the local PCA weekly breakfast and Barley's
events.
